Movie Reviw : It's kind of a funny story

You know, we all have psychopaths moments sometime. We feel lost, without ambition - but still - passionate about life. I wake up every day thinking I'm not yet discovered who I am, thinking I'm living my life inside out. Thinking I should
go outside and just walk a little. But instead I'm always at home because I do not know where I could go.
I wish I could go to somewhere, and this place would be anywhere. When I still lived in my hometown, I used to wake up very early and walk down my street. It was always cold, and it was beautiful. Now I live in a capital city, very busy, I can not go anywhere without purpose. But I like to go nowhere.

I really like this movie. Was directed by Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden. The story is about Craig (Keir Gilchrist) his parents are nice. His mother is attentive, his father insisted too much for him to go to a good college, which seems not thrill Craig. He also has a younger sister, she's a little genius.
The introduction of the film begins with Craig walking on a bridge, thinking about killing himself. He seems worried about the pressure to be good enough for his dad's requirement.

Craig decides to be hospitalized in a psychiatric hospital. He is depressed, thinking of suicide, he feel lost.
When he is hospitalized, realize that there are many people far worse than him there. Craig makes friends with Bobby (Zach Galifianakis) and Noelle (Emma Roberts)
He spends five days in the hospital - which may seem little time for someone to change, however, he do - and in the meantime he discovers many things about himself.
At the hospital, Craig has therapy every day with Dr. Minerva (Viola Davis), and she makes him reflect why he feels that way  and she tells Craig to remember when he was happy for the last time. It is one of my favorite parts of the movie.

This last two photos are my favorites, Keir Gilchrist lookin' hot in those

'' Lord, grant me the strength to accept the things I can't change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference ''
(Dr.Minerva to Craig)

And has Craig's relationship with Noelle. They start as friends and eventually fall in love.

At the hospital, Craig discovers his relationship with art. He loves to draw, and ends up singing Under Pressure by Queen with the rest of the people in the psych ward.

And then Craig finds out things about people on the hospital, and about himself, his family and friends. My other favorite part is the last scene, him saying things that he'll do to be happy.
'' Bike, eat, drink, talk. Ride the subway, read, read maps. Make maps, make art. Finish the Gates application. Tell my dad not to stress about it. Hug my mom. Kiss my little sister. Kiss my dad. Make out with Noelle. Make out with her more. Take her on a picnic. See a movie with her. See a movie with Aaron. Heck, see a movie with Nia. Have a party. Tell people my story. Volunteer at 3 North. Help people like Bobby. Like Muqtada. Like me. Draw more. Draw a person. Draw a naked person. Draw Noelle naked. Run, travel, swim, skip. Yeah, I know it's lame, but, whatever. Skip anyway. Breathe... Live ''

I select a few songs that I liked on the movie

Movie Reviw : Palo Alto

Hello everyone. So, this is my first post, I'm really excited to start writing here all my reviews on movies, fashion labels, artists, etc. Hope you enjoy it.

The years we spent in high school are the years we start discovering yourselves. High school, where our head are clouded, and you can feel in many ways at the same time.

Palo Alto capture that moment of feeling lost, and then finding yourself in little things. Like spending all day in your room, watch your toes as they move, listen to some quiet music, read about your favorite artist, find inspiration when it is raining outside, strum your guitar, watch the drawings that are hanging on your wall. Little things that impact us.
Palo Alto is a book written by James Franco, who also acts in the film as Mr.B (Football coach) and was directed by Gina Coppola. The story is a junction memories of James Franco in his youth in the city of Palo Alto, California. I'm a huge 90's fangirl, and this is a 2013 movie, so I'm really impressed with this film quality. Gia managed to catch the essence of the 90s, for example, you can't see the characters in front of the computer, or in their phones catching up what is up in their social networks. She managed to capture the teenagehood simplicity.

April (Emma Roberts) is a girl who finds herself in a romantic conflict with Teddy (Jack Kilmer) and Mr.B (James Franco) despite the fact her relationship with Teddy is not said by her, but at the last moments of the film, Teddy says to her that loves her. Teddy is my favorite character, is a good boy - who like everyone else - is trying to find who he is. Teddy is always with Fred (Nat Wolff) which is a clearly disturbed boy, who is always partying and smoking, looking for trouble and fun or some crazy thing to do.
The feeling of April and Teddy for each other, is clear in the scene where April is sitting on the couch and some random boy sit on her side and begins to tease her , while she see Teddy and Emily holding hands and climbing up the stairs . Then April make out with this boy and when Teddy see it, he calls Fred to leave.

Is the story of some young people with deep psychological analysis on each of them.
What I love about this movie, that although it's a 21 century  film, it bring back the 90's movies vibe : denim jackets, typical antique cars, the teenagers don't spend all day by their cell phones or computers, young people having fun at parties, spend time together hanging around, staying at home and playing guitar.

One night Teddy and Fred are driving drunk and they ending up hitting a woman's car. Teddy is sentenced to work in a children's library for serving his sentence. This makes him turn away from Fred, and he begins to settle down. It's funny because, when he is away from Fred, he is this really calm and peaceful person.

Emily (Zoe Levin) is a troubled girl, crazy for attention. She does blowjob in Teddy at a party, and when she's over, he gets up and leave, while she is taking swig of mouthwash and facing herself at the mirror while she watch Teddy leave the room. In this scene we can see clearly the attention she expected to receive, giving satisfaction to any guy for in exchange for him to say that she is important, special, for her to feel loved. But that never happened.

Later we see her having sex with Fred at her house, because he gave some attention to her, and when sex ends he leaves little caring about her. After some time has passed he returns to her home, and he makes her go down on him at her garden. He knows she doesn't have much friends, and uses her shortage of attention to get what him want.
I love the narration of Fred about Emily, is one of my favorite parts.
He seemed to care about her, but also wanted to use her.

Fred narration about Emily:

Teddy was always gone doing work or probation or whatever you call that baloney.
We talked on the phone a few times. Emily didn't have any friends, I didn't talk long, the only person she knew was me. Just enough to make her feel comfortable.
One afternoon we went to Jason King’s house for drinks, she didn't talk to much
Jason’s parents were gone. I did all the talking, We were drinking sodas and vodka and smoking pot.
I was a nice guy, i'm a nice guy to everyone.
Emily came over, I got her into Jason’s parents bed. I got her naked. The guys lined up outside the bedroom.
Big brown house.
We went in two or three at a time.
Everyone fucked her.
We ran on the house the house to ...
I kept going back in with everyone like I was the party host.
She gave me a blowjob
I ask her if she liked it
I didn't put my clothes on when I ushered people in,
she said she did
I was a wild monkey.
Then I left.

Back to April and her relationship with Mr.B . April often babysit for his son, and one time while she was at his house he declares that he loves her, and she loses her virginity to him after the football championship. It is strange to note his passion for her, he is so much older than April, yet they end up getting together. But after they have sex, she found that his son has another babysit and assume that he also has a relationship with her, then she breaks up with him.

Then the film ends with Teddy walking alone while receiving a sms from April. Fred is driving in the opposite direction of a busy street.
And then you end up discovering unspoken things about the teenagers, and ends up identifying with them.
After watching it I felt I should start walking in my own direction, and start discovering things.
I felt happy
